I'm really really really loving my S6000. That post lists the exact parts I used (SCSI-IDE, IDE-CF). Here's a link to my HC post from a few weeks ago when I pulled it all together: I also stole the floppy's power, and unplugged its data cable. I used old floppy power cables and old HD power cables, spliced them together as needed to power everything. I made my own, and used a multitester to make certain that I was getting the correct voltage to the correct pins. You can round up akai power cables, or you can make your own. You can get power to it from the aux power port, next to where the floppy is powered. Just post ANY links you know off here OR just cut/paste any useful info. I fell in love with these machines years ago when I saw one in a music shop BUT as usual could not even pay for the floppy disk drive in them and now I've got a brand NEW one here yet cant do much with them without the proper storage !ĪNY help would be HIGHLY appreciated guys.

Once you fit the HD inside the box, WHERE do you draw the power from ? there does not seem to be any standard PC power supply so how will the HD be powered ? I've seen some threads where people are replacing the floppy disk drive with alternative means to load samples OR to connect USB devices. Which is the best HD option ? I can see an IDE Option, SCSI Option inside the S6K so does that mean I can fit an IDE HD or is that IDE connector just for show ? Does anyone know of any links for me to check out ? I am sure its been done thousands of times around the globe albeit a few years back so there must be LOADS of help out there. I am finding it extremely hard to find any sites with info about fitting a hard disk inside these beauties.

Its brand new, out of the box but already fitted with a 128MB RAM and the standard floppy disk. Managed to grab me a brand NEW S6000 (shall we say a lucky eBay deal !).
